The first General Assembly of the Western Balkans Alumni Association (WBAA) was held

The first General Assembly of the Western Balkans Alumni Association was held on March 14th-16th 2019 in Tirana, (Albania). The Assembly was attended by about 150 students from the Western Balkans region, a number of members of the Regional Board of the association, as well as representatives of the European Commission.

WBAA represents a regional student association, aimed at linking students who have spent part of their studies abroad, taking part in some of mobility programmes (Erasmus +, CEEPUS…), as well as those interested in undertaking mobility, but it also aims at presenting opportunities for exchange and cooperation within the region. The afore-mentioned association was established in order to provide support to recent graduates facing problems such as unemployment and social inclusion.

This event aimed at explaining the purpose of establishing such an association and its members were able to take part in discussion, as well as to propose ideas and solutions to some problems/activities of the organization which are important for its development and enhancement. The event also served as an opportunity to present WBAA projects, which represent an asset of great importance.

Michael Goulao, community manager WBAA; Marlene Bartes and Albert Sese Ballart, Directorate General for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport (European Commission); Klaudja Koci, WBAA Regional Board member, as well as a number of members and representatives of the Western Balkans Alumni Association, delivered a speech at the conference.
